This Week in the YPU: Dasha Nekrasova

Dear Members and Friends of the Yale Political Union,

Thank you to all who joined us last Tuesday as we debated Resolved: Yale Will Not Level the Playing Field with Dr. Sandy Baum. By a vote of 48-3-2, the resolution passed. 

On Tuesday, February 7th at 7:30pm, the Yale Political Union will host Dasha Nekrasova to debate “Resolved: Polarize” in Sheffield-Sterling-Strathcona Hall, Room 114 (SSS 114). Please note the unconventional location. Due to the high volume of public interest, the debate is fully subscribed. 

All attendees must enter the venue through the side door facing Grove Street. Members of the public must show a valid ID and your Eventbrite registration to enter. Yale students must show your Yale ID and your Eventbrite registrationto enter. Yale Political Union members may enter the debate without prior registration.

Dasha Nekrasova is an actress, filmmaker, and host of the cultural commentary podcast Red Scare. Highlights of her acting career include a supporting role on the TV show Succession. She made her directorial debut with The Scary of Sixty-First, a horror film inspired by Jeffrey Epstein’s death. Her podcast Red Scare is associated with the ‘dirtbag left’ and is critical of neoliberalism and feminism. It has featured guests from across the political spectrum, including Elizabeth Bruenig, Tulsi Gabbard, Slavoj Žižek, and Alex Jones. 

Prior to Tuesday’s debate, the Union will host a dinner with Ms. Nekrasova for a small group of students. Please fill out this form to indicate your interest in attending by 5pm on Monday.

The Conservative Party will be holding a closed caucus.

The Tory Party will be debating “Resolved: The CCP Will Fall” on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:30pm in the Saybrook Athenaeum room. (Contact: anouk.schembri@yale.edu).
